Sorry for the delayed response, Leif. I thought I had responded to this over the Winter holiday.

The Santa Cruz Maker’s Factory has a handful of printers – a few filament printers, a ceramic printer, and a cement printer they’re still trying to get up and running. They also have an off-site laser cutter that they use for a lot of wood work. They offer walk-ins, to-order printing (i.e. if you have a model, you can send it to them for printing though they send the larger jobs off to Shapeways), and some classes in modeling and robotics. Their focus has shifted to mainly support education in open source 3D, mostly for kids & teens.

You should go down their and just walk in someday. They are very friendly and will be glad to give you a tour.

You mentioned in a previous post that you live in Santa Cruz (its where im at now, weird… as I found your blog via a site via BLDG BLOG).Do you know anything about the 3-D printing downtown near the Cruzio building?
